Freya Ann Oatway is a Dublin based contemporary milliner who’s inspiration and ideas stem from her love of travel, art, sculpture, colour and natural aesthetics. Having interned in London and interned with Philip Treacy she continued her studies in dressmaking and design in Dublin before returning to London to work for a host of luxury fashion houses including Giles, Mulberry and Roland Mouret. She gained her experience working with luxurious materials and exciting accessories all at the highest qualities. Freya managed a contemporary fashion brand for a number of years gaining valuable knowledge of product development and the business of fashion.
She completed a millinery course at London College of Fashion and returned to Dublin to follow her first creative passion and set up FAO Millinery. FAO’s ethos is to create fresh and modern pieces using the finest materials while maintaining an ecological and sustainable approach where possible. She combines the traditional craftsmanship of hand-blocking, new millinery techniques and contemporary designs to create timeless pieces.
