Alanagh Clegg / Four Threads

About This Project

Alanagh Clegg / Four Threads

Alanagh Clegg created her Four Threads label during her Graduate year in The National College of Art and Design, Dublin.Inspired by a family business of hand crafting, her work explores the traditions of these techniques that have been passeddown through generations. Furthering her studies at The Grafton Academy of Tailoring in Dublin, the work is carefullydeveloped into a considered collection of garments, accessories and thoughtfully designed objects to transcend each seasonand to be lived in and loved for a lifetime

Using ethically sourced fabrics from local Irish Linen to hand woven Indian ‘khadi’ cotton, the cloth used celebrates theirheritage of crafted textiles. New designs are gradually added with additions to fabric choices; including special projectscreating limited edition garments working with artisan makers in India.

The approach to producing a Four Threads item draws from the four aims of our ethos: inspired, handmade, quality andconscious.
